, the modern 18 oz. wonder, made of 100% broom corn, packed 12 per carton (six varnished and six blue 13/16" dia. hardwood handle). Approximately 18# per dozen.
In 1936 the Joseph Lay Company of Portland, Indiana began the manufacturing process, and soon after patented the Kitchenette trademark. We began the manufacturing process of this broom in 1948. On November 29, 1986 Quinn Broom Works, Inc. acquired all rights for this trademark.
We currently serve approximately 5000 customers on this broom alone. Many are individuals for personal use and gifts where groups and clubs use the Kitchenette for fund raising. To accommodate individual customers, we added a 4-pack [4 brooms per carton] at a special price in 1996.
